How to connect your Namecheap domain to PublishFi

A custom domain makes your site stand out and builds trust with your audience. This guide will help you connect your Namecheap domain to PublishFi in just a few steps.


1. Add Your Custom Domain in PublishFi

  1. Log in to your PublishFi dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Domains.
  3. Enter your Namecheap domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) in the custom domain field.
  4. Click Connect.

PublishFi will now display the DNS records you need to add in Namecheap. Keep this tab open!


2. Update DNS Records in Namecheap

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account and click on Domain List.
  2. Find the domain you want to use and click Manage.
  3. Go to the Advanced DNS tab.

  1. Add the required DNS records as shown in your PublishFi dashboard:
    • A Record
      • Host: @
      • Value: (Use the IP address provided by PublishFi)
      • TTL: Automatic
    • A Record
      • Host: www
      • Value: (Use the IP address provided by PublishFi)
      • TTL: Automatic

Tip: Remove any existing A or AAAA records that might conflict with these new records. Only keep the two A records pointing to PublishFi.

  1. Save your changes.

3. Verify Your Connection in PublishFi

  1. Return to your PublishFi dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Domains and click Refresh.
  3. If everything is set up correctly, you’ll see a confirmation that your domain is connected!

4. Go Live!

Congrats! Your custom Namecheap domain is now connected to your PublishFi site. You can start publishing and sharing your new branded website.


Troubleshooting

  • If you see a “Domain Taken” error, make sure the domain isn’t connected to another project. Remove it from the old project or contact support.
  • DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate.
  • Double-check that you only have two A records for your domain, both pointing to the IP addresses provided by PublishFi.
