Changing Your Website's Look

Ready for a fresh look? PublishFi makes it easy to switch themes without losing your content. This guide will walk you through the process of changing themes while ensuring a smooth transition.

Step 1: Add a New Theme

Before switching, you'll need to add your desired theme to your account:

1. Navigate to Theme Settings:

   • Go to your PublishFi dashboard
   • Click on "Settings" in the left sidebar
   • Select "Themes" from the settings menu

2. Browse Available Themes:

   • Explore our collection of professionally designed themes
   • You can also view our complete theme catalog at publishfi.com/themes

3. Add Your Chosen Theme:

   • Click "Add Theme" for the design you want to use
   • The theme will be added to your available themes list

Step 2: Activate the New Theme

Once you've added your new theme:

1. Find it in your theme list
2. Click "Activate" to make it available in your Website Editor

Step 3: Build New Pages with Your New Theme

Rather than immediately replacing your existing pages, we recommend a gradual transition:

1. Create new pages using your new theme's templates
2. Customize these pages with your existing content
3. Test the new pages to ensure everything looks and functions as expected

Creating New Pages

1. Open the Website Editor
2. Click the "+" button in the left sidebar to add a new page
3. In the Insert menu, select page templates from your new theme
4. Copy content from your old pages to the new ones

Step 4: Replace Old Pages

Once you're satisfied with your new pages:

1. Update your navigation to point to the new pages
2. Set your new home page as the default landing page
3. Redirect old URLs to their new counterparts if needed

Step 5: Remove Old Pages

After confirming that your website looks great with the new theme:

1. Archive or delete the old theme pages
2. Make any final adjustments to ensure consistency across your site

• Back up your content before making major changes
• Work on one page at a time to manage the process effectively
• Check all links to ensure they point to the correct pages
• Test your site on multiple devices to ensure responsive design works properly
