Creating share links
Export links give anyone you share them with a dedicated page to download your finished video. Each link is independent — you control which platform formats it includes, the quality level, and how long it remains active. This article walks through every setting in the link creation form and explains how to manage the links you have already created.
Opening the link creation form
- Open a project in the video editor.
- Click Share in the top-right toolbar. The Share popover opens on the Invite tab by default.
- Click the Export tab.
- Click Create Export Link. The form expands within the popover.
Selecting platforms
The platform list shows all export frames that have been configured for your project. Each entry displays the frame name and its aspect ratio — for example, Instagram Reel at 9:16 or YouTube Post at 16:9.
Check the box next to each format you want to include in this link. Click Select All to add every frame at once, or Deselect All to clear the entire selection. At least one platform must be checked before the link can be created — the Create Link button remains disabled until a selection is made.
Tip: Create separate links for different audiences. A client reviewing final deliverables might only need the YouTube Post format, while your design team needs all social variants. Each link tracks its own download count separately.
Choosing a quality level
Pick one of three quality settings:
- Low — the smallest file size, fast to download, useful for preview and approval rounds
- Medium — a balanced mix of file size and visual quality; this is the default
- High — the largest file size and highest visual quality, best for final professional deliveries
The quality setting applies to every platform format included in the link.
Adding a recipient email (optional)
The Recipient Email field lets you associate an email address with the link for your own reference. Filling it in does not automatically send an email to the recipient — you will still share the link yourself. This field is useful if you manage multiple export links and want to remember who each one was created for.
Setting an expiry and password
You can also configure a link expiry (from 1 day to 4 weeks) and an optional password directly from the creation form. Both are covered in detail in their own articles. Leave these fields empty if you want an open link with the default 1-week expiry.
Creating the link
Once you have selected at least one platform, click Create Link. PublishFi generates the link, copies it to your clipboard automatically, and shows a confirmation toast. The new link appears immediately at the top of the Active Export Links list.
Managing active links
The Active Export Links section lists every link that is currently live for this project. For each link you can see:
- The platform formats and quality level it was created with
- A password badge if the link is password protected
- The expiry date
- A running count of how many times the link has been used to download a file
From each link entry you can:
- Copy the link URL to share it again
- Open the link in a new browser tab to see exactly what the recipient sees
- Revoke the link to deactivate it immediately
Revoking a link removes it from the list and prevents anyone from downloading through it, even if they still have the URL.
