Adding and switching frames
A PublishFi project can hold multiple frames at the same time. You might work with Wide and TikTok Post loaded together, or juggle five different platform formats at once — the project keeps track of all of them. This article covers how to add frames, move between them while editing, and remove any you no longer need.
Opening the Auto Frame panel
The Auto Frame panel is accessed from the center dock in the top toolbar. Look for the frame selector button — it shows the icon and name of your currently active frame, such as "Wide" or "Instagram Reel". Click it to open the Auto Frame panel.
The panel displays everything about your current frame setup: which frames are loaded, which is active, and the full library of frames available to add. Click anywhere outside the panel to close it.
Adding a new frame
Inside the panel, frames you haven't yet loaded are listed in two groups: Platform Frames with Safe Zones (the platform-specific presets) and Standard Frames (the generic aspect ratios). Browse both sections to find the format you need.
- Locate the frame you want — for example, "TikTok Post" or "Portrait".
- Click the + button on the right side of that row.
- The frame immediately moves into the Currently Loaded Frames list at the top of the panel, and the editor switches to it as the active frame.
The canvas preview updates in real time to reflect the new aspect ratio. If you've added a platform-specific frame, you'll also see the Platform Interface Preview toggle become available.
Switching between loaded frames
Once you have multiple frames loaded, you can jump between them freely without losing any of your work. Each frame maintains its own view of your project layout.
- Open the Auto Frame panel.
- In the Currently Loaded Frames section at the top, click the name of any frame.
- The editor canvas updates instantly to show that frame's aspect ratio and composition.
As you switch frames, hover over any loaded frame to reveal its aspect ratio label — a quick reminder of each format's proportions without needing to memorize them.
Removing a frame
If you decide you no longer need a particular frame, you can remove it from the project at any time.
- Open the Auto Frame panel.
- In the Currently Loaded Frames section, hover over the frame you want to remove.
- Click the × button that appears on the right side of that row.
If the frame you removed was the one currently active in the editor, PublishFi automatically switches to the first remaining loaded frame so your work is never interrupted.
Tip: A project must always have at least one loaded frame. Once only one frame remains in the Currently Loaded Frames list, the × button disappears to prevent accidentally removing it. To change to a completely different frame, add the new one first, then remove the old one.
