Automate workflows with Zapier
Zapier lets you connect PublishFi to hundreds of other apps without writing any code. Once a trigger fires — such as a video export completing or a new project being created — Zapier can automatically update a spreadsheet, send a Slack message, create a task, notify a client, or kick off any other action in your stack.
What you can automate
Common PublishFi + Zapier workflows include:
- Export → notify: When a video finishes exporting, send an email or Slack message to the recipient automatically.
- Publish → CMS: When you publish a video, create a draft post in your CMS with the video link pre-filled.
- New project → task: When a new PublishFi project is created, add a corresponding task to your project management tool.
Setting up your first Zap
- Log in to zapier.com and click Create Zap.
- Search for PublishFi as the trigger app and select the event you want to respond to.
- Connect your PublishFi account by authorizing Zapier when prompted.
- Choose an action app (for example, Slack, Google Sheets, or Notion) and configure the action step.
- Test the Zap and turn it on.
Once active, the Zap runs automatically in the background every time the trigger condition is met.
Tips
- Use Zapier's Filters step to run actions only when specific conditions are met (for example, only when a project belongs to a certain client folder).
- Use Formatter steps to clean up video titles or dates before they land in other tools.
- Check Zap History in Zapier to troubleshoot any runs that did not complete as expected.
