Track video projects in Linear and Atlassian

If your team tracks work in Linear or Atlassian Jira, you can connect PublishFi events to your issue tracker so that video production milestones — drafts ready for review, exports complete, videos published — are reflected automatically alongside your other project work.

Connecting via Zapier

Zapier provides pre-built connectors for both Linear and Jira:

1. Create a new Zap at zapier.com.
2. Set PublishFi as the trigger (for example, "Export completed" or "Project created").
3. Set Linear or Jira as the action app.
4. For Linear: create a new issue, update an existing issue's status, or add a comment.
   For Jira: transition a ticket, create a sub-task, or post a comment.
5. Map PublishFi fields (project name, export link, date) to the relevant issue fields.
6. Test and activate the Zap.

Linear: recommended workflow

A common pattern for video teams using Linear:

• Create a Linear issue for each video project when the project is started in PublishFi.
• Move the issue to In Review when an export is ready.
• Move it to Done when the final video is delivered to the client.

This gives your whole team a single source of truth for what stage each video is at.

Atlassian Jira: recommended workflow

For teams on Jira:

• Use a Video Production board with columns matching your production stages (Script, Filming, Editing, Review, Delivered).
• Automate Jira transitions based on PublishFi export events via Zapier or Jira Automation webhooks.
• Attach the PublishFi project link to the Jira ticket for quick access.

Tips

• Use consistent project naming between PublishFi and your issue tracker to make Zapier mappings easier to maintain.
• Consider creating a custom field in Jira or Linear for the PublishFi project URL so it is always one click away.
• For larger teams, use Zapier's Paths feature to route different types of PublishFi events to different issue states.
